Sue Nabi has built a career out of reinventing well-known beauty brands. This September, Sue Nabi will take on her next challenge: CEO at global beauty company Coty Inc., whose portfolio of cosmetic, skin, hair, and fragrance brands that includes Covergirl, O.P.I, Rimmel, Burberry, and Adidas.
While at L’Oreal, Nabi was the mastermind behind resurfacing the brand’s “Because You’re Worth It” campaign to massive success in the '90s. Then, while serving as the CEO of Lancôme, one of L’Oreal’s brands, Nabi spent three years developing the fragrance La Vie Est Belle, which made waves when it launched with Julia Roberts as its face in 2012. Today it’s the best-selling fragrance in France, according to Byrdie.
After spending 20 years rising through the ranks and holding major leadership positions at L’Oreal, Nabi left in 2014 to launch her own skincare company, Orveda, with Nicolas Vu. Orveda’s products are vegan, green, gender-neutral, and designed to “work with skin, not against it.”
Nabi’s return to the corporate beauty world with her role at Coty will establish her as one of only two women CEOs in the top 10 beauty manufacturers, according to Vogue UK.
