Founder and Director, The Path
Bioeconomy leader Stora Enso is a key provider of renewable solutions in packaging, biomaterials, wooden constructions and paper globally. Based in Stockholm, Johanna Hagelberg plays a crucial role in Stora Enso’s group, leading inbound and outbound supply with a keen interest in sustainability with triple bottom-line thinking. Previously chief procurement officer at Vattenfall AB, Hagelberg started her career in the automotive industry at Scania and General Motors, with leading sourcing positions at NCC and RSA Scandinavia.
Hagelberg says her role is a team effort. She tells Business Insider, “In the last 12 months, together with our business partners, we have managed extraordinary sourcing and logistics challenges with Brexit, Finnish strikes and Covid on top of the normal ambitions to get a little bit better every day.”
“Work in different industries and companies if you can, it will broaden your competence and it's fun,” she tells Business Insider. “Hate internal friction; it’s pure waste. Create meaningfulness, be clear, and dare to jump forward. Find out what matters most, ‘synergies of scale’ or ‘synergies of skills’? Use solutions already found — there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. The trick is always implementation; that’s where you need your energy.”
