Ignacio Galan, chairman and CEO of Spanish giant Iberdrola is not just renowned in Spain, he is also one of the people accelerating France’s renewable power generation.
Galan announced last month that Iberdrola will invest about 3 billion to 4 billion euros in the next four years to continue its growth in France.
Galan said at a Choose France meeting, organized by the French government, "Iberdrola plans to invest between 3 and 4 billion euros in the next four years to continue to grow in the renewable energy sector" both in onshore and offshore wind, as well as in solar.
“We are already investing 2.4 billion euros in developing the Saint-Brieuci offshore wind farm," he adds. "We have onshore wind projects already operational and others under development."
Galan’s transformational work in the energy space also earned him a name on Harvard Business Review’s top five CEOs in the world in 2019.
Galan is a member of a number of high profile energy and ministerial groups, including the Global Sustainability Electricity Partnership and J.P Morgan International Council, to name a few.
